Glatfelter Insurance Group Completes Claims Modernization with Insurity to Improve Operational Efficiency

July 10, 2018

Hartford, CT – July 10, 2018 — Insurity, Inc., a leading provider of core insurance processing, data integration, and analytics solutions, today announced Glatfelter Insurance Group has completed its implementation of SIMS Claims and is now running the core system in each of the states where the company provides insurance. Glatfelter is one of the largest private insurance brokers in the United States with more than 500 associates and over 30,000 clients servicing niche commercial and specialty lines of insurance.

Glatfelter previously used several systems for claims handling, some of which had been in place for more than 20 years. The company is now leveraging SIMS Claims full-service platform to reduce its tech footprint significantly by replacing three legacy systems, including core claims processing, check printing, and document generation. This streamlines the process to allow for previously manual tasks, such as diary entries, to be automated based on customized business rules.

“By adopting SIMS Claims, Glatfelter has empowered our claims teams to function more efficiently,” says Larissa Tosch, Chief Information Officer at Glatfelter Insurance Group. “Insurity’s deep expertise and cooperative approach enabled our team to undergo a business processing review that didn’t just recreate the same claims process used with our legacy system, but rather enhanced, decommissioned, and created business processes designed to provide our claims examiners the ability to continue to provide stellar service to our policyholders.”

Insurity’s SIMS Claims solution was implemented in under 18 months, and provides Glatfelter the ability to fully customize user interfaces (UI) without external support. This role and user based configurability enables Glatfelter to increase productivity, operational efficiency, and ultimately reduce expenses from past legacy systems.

“The SIMS Claims solution is architected to provide Glatfelter with an intuitive product immediately upon implementation, while enabling simple configurations to add new features at their own pace,” says Michele Shepard, Chief Revenue Officer at Insurity. “We believe this approach is the best blend of speed to value and long-term reductions in total cost of ownership.”
